Laveronica arte contemporanea was founded in 2007 in the Sicilian town of Modica by Corrado Gugliotta. From the beginning it focused its research on the human condition through politically and socially oriented art, and given its geographical location, it began to collaborate with artists from the Mediterranean area or with artists whose aptitudes and sensitivities show ties with this geographical area. Since its establishment  the gallery has hosted solo and group exhibitions on a regular basis with represented and guest artists. Sveva D’Antonio initially joined the gallery as an assistant and in 2016 she has become a partner.

Manifesta, the European Nomadic Biennial, changes its location every two years. Manifesta purposely strives to keep its distance from what are often seen as the dominant centres of artistic  production, instead seeking fresh and fertile terrain for the mapping of a new cultural topography. This includes innovations in curatorial practices, exhibition models and education. Each Manifesta biennial aims to investigate and reflect on emerging developments in contemporary art, set within a European context. In doing so, we present local, national and international audiences with new aspects and forms of artistic expression.

Jozef Wouters (1986, B) has been active as a stage designer and artist in the Flemish and Brussels performing arts world since 2007. In 2010, he graduated from a.pass (Advanced Performance and Scenography Studies) in Brussels, where he specialised in scenography.

Wouters’ own work often relates to a specific location, such as All problems can never be solved (2012) for the Cité Modèle in Laeken.

Jozef Wouters often departs from questions that may, or may not, be predetermined, ideas that gradually take shape inside and outside the boundaries of making. Strategic spaces thereby enter into dialogues with social processes and the power of the imagination; sometimes functional, sometimes committed or absurd, but always with a focus on the things that preoccupy him as an artist and as a person.

Wouters is an integral part of Damaged Goods, the Brussels based company of choreographer Meg Stuart. He initiates projects as an independent artist in residence, using his Decoratelier in Brussels as a base.

Pauline de La Boulaye is a free lance historian, author, researcher and curator. Having studied contemporary history, social sciences and European studies in Paris, Pauline has curated exhibitions and conferences, and undertaken research for museums, local authorities and corporate collections. Pauline works on the boundary between visual arts, architecture, performing arts, public space, fiction and institutions. After writing as a critic, she is now concentrating on curating & editing action research projects in public space. She believes that artistic creation has a vital role to play other than entertainment and sales. That’s why she co-creates with artists outdoor events in order to increase symbolic, educational and social impact of arts. Current project: architectures! collective inventory, commissioned by Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles.
